A: Didn’t you go to the cricket club?
B: Yes, I did go to the cricket club.
A: Was it crowed?
B: Quite crowed.

B: Greg was there, yes. And Robert Queen was there, too.
A: Does Robert Queen like cricket?
B: No, he doesn’t. He quarreled with Greg.
He went to the pub and drank some glasses of beer.

Grammar : Conditional sentences in reported speech
1. “ If I hear any news, I will let you know,” she said.

Examples:
3. “ If it hadn’t rained, I would have gone out last night,” Minh said

2. “If it didn’t rain, I would go out,” Lan said.

-> Lan said (that) if it didn’t rain she would go out.
-> She said (that) if she heard any news she would let me know.
-> Minh said (that) if it hadn’t rained he would have gone out the

Conditinal type 1: we apply all the necessary changes as usual
(changes of verb tenses, pronouns, adverbs of time and place)
Conditional type 2 and 3: we do not change the verb tenses, but we
follow the rules to change pronouns, adverbs of time and place…
